The Segreant Club

The Segreant Club is the association for old members of Downing College Boat Club.

Club History

The Segreant Club was founded in 1996 as the successor club to the DCBC Old Members Association. It has grown rapidly and now has over 175 members ranging from 1930s matriculants to the most recent graduates.

The aims of the Segreant Club are:

  • To hold social events for those with an interest in Downing rowing

  • To produce a newsletter (The Magenta Messenger) to keep members informed of the Boat Club's progress

  • To financially support Downing College Boat Club

The Segreant Club website launch

As a starter for ten here's a simple website to facilitate greater contact between the members of the Segreant Club community. It's powered by Blogger so it's straightforward for you to add comments or register if you want to write a post.

The key objectives of promoting better communication between the Segreants are to maintain the current momentum with high attendance of the annual dinner and generate the enthusiasm and ideas to return DCBC to the top. Many of us were Head of the River when we were members of Downing - it was a big achievement, but can we do it again now we've left?
